Digital photo frames have become one of the most popular electronics gifts for teens, parents, and grandparents. Jumping on this trend, Kodak has introduced the Wi-Fi–enabled EasyShare EX811 ($229.95 direct), a versatile display that suffers a bit in terms of image quality.
The EX811 has an 8-inch, 16:9 widescreen that can display pictures and video and play MP3s. Measuring 11.2 by 8.3 by 1.5 inches (HWD) and weighing 1.7 pounds, the frame is powered by a 12-volt adapter with a power brick and a conveniently long cord. Manual controls are located on the top of the frame for navigating through photos, accessing the menu, and playing a music slide show. The included remote control can be stowed away in a removable plastic holder on the back.

Casio’s PCP-1000 and PCP-200 photo printers boast plenty of LCD
By admin | August 21, 2007
An LCD on a printer is no uncommon sight these days, but we’ve got to hand it to Casio for totally blowing out the concept. Its new printers, the PCP-1000 and PCP-200, hit 7-inches and 3.5-inches, respectively, with the 7-incher (pictured) running at 480 x 234, while the 3.5-inch keeps things respectable at 240 x 320. Of course, it’s still hard to justify one of these things for editing and reviewing your photos when odds are you’ll have a perfectly good PC sitting a few feet away, but when has that sort of logic stopped us in the past? The PCP-1000 is hitting Japan September 20th for 61,950 yen ($547 US), while the PCP-200 will run you lucky folk 50,400 yen ($445 US) on September 7th.

Reader’s Photo: Andromeda Galaxy
By Dphotojournal com | August 21, 2007
Frank has sent us amazing photo of Andromeda Galaxy taken with his
Canon EOS 350D and SkyWatcher 80ED telescope.

Each dot of light is as star… Are we alone ?
“I shot this photo with the Canon EOS 350D and the SkyWatcher 80ED telescope (instead of Canon lenses). So, I shot 36 photos of the galaxy during 300 seconds in RAW, 800iso. I take too five darks (a photo with the hood of the Canon, it’s to see the hot’s pixels). Then, with the free software IRIS, I added these images and subtract the dark to suppress the hot pixels. That’s all. Before, it was very difficult to take a photo of galaxy, nebula etc. But, now, with the numeric, it’s more easy. With a classic camera and with a small telescope, you can take a lot of astro photography photos.”

this Saturday i drove from my town, Hafnarfjörður, all the way over to the other side of Iceland, to shoot a wedding in Eskifjörður. Drove back the next day.. somewhere around 1300-1400 kilometers driven in 2 days. I slept a total of 7 hours the whole weekend... exhausting? you betcha.
despite being ridiculously tired on the way back, i found myself stopping here, in Jökulsárlón, for a bit.. too spectacular a place to just drive by it twice without stopping..(the name of this place would translate to Glacier River Lagoon, btw)
Now, seeing as i had neither Leonardo DiCaprio nor a polar bear cub with me, and it was raining, and there were hundreds of tourists milling around the area, ruling out making a creative selfportrait (not that i was particularly gorgeous after driving so much and sleeping so little) , AND having already done the whole long-exposure thing last year, i figured i'd do the opposite this time.
one day, when im as famous and successful as annie leibovitz , ill re-do this shot, only with a celebrity being tossed in, instead of a rock :p
edit: i first uploaded a different shot, taken with my 50mm, which i at first liked more, but changed my mind, and switched (sorry for the handful of comments deleted in the process)

Casio Exilim EX-Z77
By admin | August 20, 2007
Casio truly made a name for itself with the Exilim series of cameras it introduced at the beginning of the century. Exilim cameras have always been super compact, sleek, and sexy, making them ideal for people who like to travel light and easy. Hip to the fact that YouTube and other video sites are all the rage, Casio has released a new Exilim camera — the EX-Z77 — with a veritable cornucopia of features, 'YouTube capture mode' being the most notable and promoted spec. The EX-Z77 certainly sounds like a great camera, and the $199 USD MSRP is hard to beat. Read on to find out if it performs as well as expected.
